Banking - Financial Supervision Commission

The Financial Supervision Commission exercises supervision over the capital market, the insurance and pensions sector, and supplementary supervision over the financial conglomerates in the composition of which are the supervised entities.

The tasks of the Financial Supervision Commission include, among other things:
  • supervising the financial market;
  • taking actions aimed at ensuring the correct functioning of the financial market;
  • taking actions aimed at developing the financial market and improving its competitiveness;
  • taking educational and information steps concerning the functioning of the financial market;
  • participating in the drafting of legal regulations in the area of financial market supervision;
  • creating conditions for an amicable resolution of disputes between financial market participants, in particular disputes arising from contracts between entities subject to the Commission’s supervision and the recipients of services rendered by these entities.
As of 1 January 2008, the Financial Supervision Commission took over from the Banking Supervision Commission the performance of banking supervision and supervision over electronic money institutions.
