Internet

Large investments and deregulation in recent years have improved the telecommunication system in Poland. In 2006, 99% of large enterprises, 99% of medium enterprises and 86% of small enterprises had internet access. 92% of large enterprises had broadband connections. In 2005 there were over 660 internet providers offering Internet access in various technologies. Internet access services in Poland (including households) are provided mainly via DSL, dial-up, cable, modems and LAN.(source: Eurostat)

Telecommunications

The whole area of Poland is covered by mobile networks. The operators active in the market provide their services based on GSM 900MHz, GSM 1800MHz and UMTS frequencies.
The liberalization of the Polish fixed telecommunication market resulted in the establishment of 68 alternative operators. The total number of subscribers of fixed lines is 11.3m and is almost three times less in comparison to mobile subscribers.
