Labour market: Remuneration

Remuneration for work should correspond to the kind of work provided and the qualifications necessary for its performance, and should also refer to the volume and quantity of the services provided. Remuneration in Poland is paid based on the amount of time worked (usually a month, sometimes: hours or days) or work units, at least once a month, on a pre-determined date. In 2008 the minimum remuneration legally guaranteed equals PLN 1 126.00 gross (Journal of Laws of 2007, No. 171, item 1209), whereas for employees starting their first year of work in cannot be less than PLN 900.80 gross (Journal of Laws of 2002, No. 200, item 1679).
