The major cities in Poland are currently going through a period of economic and social growth. An unprecedented level of public support including significant infrastructure investment and revitalization activities has changed the image of the Polish cities. This support comes largely from European Union funds. Other factors, such as legal changes which transformed local government authorities into true managers of their own establishments as well as effective reforms that sparked off citizens’ vigour contribute to the continuing attractiveness of Polish big cities.
